Today, I was able to go on an adventure with some sweet friends of mine. I went hiking at Enchanted Rock, thinking it was going to be a breeze, but boy did it prove me wrong. We got to hike some pretty steep rocks, and made it through a challenging cave. It was definitely the scariest and hardest thing I've ever done in my life! I'm not joking when I say it felt like a life or death situation if your hand or foot slipped from holding onto a rock while climbing. Although it was scary, I was able to overcome some of my biggest fears. There were countless times when I just wanted to give up and go back as we were struggling to finish the cave. I wanted to take the easy way out of things and just turn back instead of "following the narrow road" and finishing the cave. Sometimes, that's how it can start to feel like with our walk with the Lord. When things get tough and we go through trials, it's so easy for us to turn away from God. However, it's through those seasons where we need to pour out our trust in him and follow the "narrow road" because in the end, it'll all be worth it once we're with him for eternity... As we reached the top of the rock, I couldn't help but to be in awe of God's precious creations, and truly admire how great he is. It's crazy to think he made of all of this, and how much greater heaven will be like one day.
